News release: Software spinoff Brand Live launches with PDC help

The Portland Development Commission has partnered with Cascade (formerly known as Cascade Web Development) to help the Portland-based web marketing developer launch a new software technology venture, Brand Live, a live video broadcasting technology that allows companies to broadcast from anywhere with a video camera and to interact with clients using a built-in chat function.

PDC is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to select a qualified and responsible Proposer to implement the strategy and recommendations from the Financial Systems Consolation Assessment and Lawson Projects and Activities Implementation Strategy project. There will be multiple deliverables associated with this project – those are further described in Section 3 of the RFP.

Note that a voluntary pre-proposal meeting for this RFP will be held on August 3, 2010 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at PDC offices and by conference call (see Section 1.4 of the RFP).

Mayor Adams announces first three "Main Street" districts

Portland, Ore – The city of Portland and the Portland Development Commission announced the first three Portland Main Street Districts today at Ladybug Organic Café on N. Lombard St., a neighborhood coffeehouse that represents the collective community commitment that the Main Street program seeks to nurture and develop. Mayor Sam Adams congratulated St. John’s Main Streets Coalition, NE Alberta Main Street Program and Hillsdale Community Foundation as the initial districts to launch the Portland program, which will be the first urban Green Main Street program in the country.

PDC hosts Gateway Park open house

On Tuesday, June 22 the Portland Development Commission and Portland Bureau of Parks and Recreation will host an open house for community members to gather information and provide feedback on the development of a new three-acre park and one-acre redevelopment site in the Gateway neighborhood. The open house will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. at the future site of the park, NE 106th Avenue and NE Halsey Street.
