Neighborhood Research Resources
- Use online resources such as the search capabilities found at NeighborhoodScout to help you find the best places to live in the Portland area.
- View the Multiple Listing Service for the Portland Metropolitan area and the region and see houses for sale online at www.rmls.com.
- Determine school boundaries at the Portland Public Schools' website www.pps.k12.or.us/schools-c/boundaries.
You can use the City of Portland's GIS mapping service to learn a lot about a specific property and neighborhood including:
- Is the property is within a Flood Zone? located within an Urban Renewal Area?
- How close are amenities and services such as parks, schools, transportation services?
- How are property values changing in the area?
- What are the demographics of the immediate area (income levels, number of families with children, etc.)
