The Interstate Corridor Urban Renewal Plan focuses on revitalizing North and Northeast Portland by providing resources to benefit local residents, businesses, and property owners. A comprehensive process of community involvement resulted in a plan that spells out the community’s vision for its future over the next 20 years.

The ten neighborhoods within the urban renewal area represent a diverse collection of people, businesses, and community facilities. Enhancing the character of these neighborhoods and strengthening businesses throughout the area is part of the challenge of revitalization over the years. Ensuring that businesses have an opportunity to make the most of the Interstate MAX light rail is also an important goal. Improving the appearance of these businesses is an important part of the overall district revitalization, and will serve as a catalyst for additional improvements.
